Monday Morning Tax Blues - Mt. Princeton Looks Great Though!
I officially have the tax blues today. My taxes are almost done and I received an estimation from my accountant of how much I owe the IRS for 2006. Thankfully, my accountant is working hard at finding every possible write-off I can claim, being that I run two small businesses. I am partly demoralized at how little money I made overall for the year, and yet I am equally demoralized over how much I nevertheless owe because of social security taxes.
So what's the positive spin on this? Well, I do indeed work for myself and really enjoy my freedom. As an example, I plan to visit the Great Sand Dunes National Park on Monday, April 16. Most of you who are reading this from your work cubicles do not have that option. Yet in the spirit of rejoicing with those who rejoice and mourning with those who mourn (Romans 12:15), I want to congratulate those who will be receiving tax refunds and offer my sympathy for those who will owe the IRS.
Today's photo: A sunny morning that shows fresh snow on Mt. Princeton from Saturday's snowfall. I also visited St. Elmo yesterday.
