Summer Days In Colorado's Mountains

Mt. Princeton in Colorado

Colorado is such a happening place in the summer that there is absolutely no excuse for one to complain that they're bored. Just a few happenings this weekend: The Salida Art Walk, guided tours inside buildings in St. Elmo, the Buena Vista history museum, various small town festivals and events happening in other areas, whitewater rafting and hiking. Goodness! The hiking alone - there are myriad hikes to be enjoyed in the mountains and yesterday I shared a three mile stretch of the Colorado Trail with just two other people. You can see those photos here: Colorado Trail.

I slept in this morning but I will likely head to Salida to see what the "art walk" is like. I plan to hike to Boss Lake (near Ski Monarch) as well, and at some point, I need to do my laundry as well! :p)

Photo Above: A late evening photo of Mt. Princeton from a few nights ago. I was standing right at the rodeo grounds outside of Buena Vista for the photo.

All the best, Steve (June 25, 2006)
