The Land Is Green, The Sky Is Blue

Mt. Princeton

Winters are fairly long in Buena Vista, and with it being July 10 and the contrast of winter and summer etched in my memory, the first thought that came to my mind when looking at this Mt. Princeton photo taken along Rodeo Road was: "The land is green and the sky is blue!" ;)

Summer is often a busy time with meeting and hosting friends who visit for vacation purposes. On Tuesday, a friend I met on Cottonwood Pass is coming from Boulder and we plan to do some kind of hike. An old friend in Ohio will be in town on Thursday and we also plan to meet up. Then on Friday, a woman and her family from Kansas are driving out from Colorado Springs (their vacation destination) to spend the day with me. I honestly don't mind all of the busyness that comes with meeting visitors, for it reminds me of how fortunate I am to live here. I mean, let's face it: I doubt I would get many summer tourist visitors seeking to meet up with me if I lived in a place like Gary, Indiana, Minot, North Dakota or Newark, New Jersey! :p)

Have a great day. I'm going kayaking at 5 p.m. this afternoon! :) -Steve (July 10, 2006)
