The Nathrop Post Office
I spent much of this morning wandering throughout Fremont County, in which I did photography inside Bighorn Sheep Canyon (particularly photographing the Arkansas River and river raft points) and in the towns of Canon City and Florence. I am on the verge of creating a new web site dedicated to promoting some of the Colorado scenery and mountains of Fremont County: www.FremontCounty.us. There are so many interesting and photogenic spots along Highway 50 in the western part of the county, in which the Arkansas River runs swiftly with great views of pinion-covered hills and other large mountains nearby.
While returning back, I got this mediocre shot of Mt. Princeton, with the Nathrop post office in the foreground. Yep, the small town of Nathrop has its own post office. Imagine working in that itty-bitty building and having that wonderful view of Mt. Princeton from a window! For the record, the Nathrop zip code is 81236. ;)
So here I sit in front of the computer, pretty much tired and needing a nap. I did a lot of driving and I'm tired! :p)
Have a great day! -Steve (May 3, 2006)
