Driving Up To Cottonwood Pass
Since it has been fairly overcast over Mt. Princeton today, I thought I would "dig up" a photo from two weeks ago when out-of-state and out-of-country friends and I took a drive to Cottonwood Pass.
I would like to make some sort of tribute to the Cottonwood Pass region. Of course, the scenery alone is enough to gain accolades, but the 19 mile stretch of Chaffee County Road 306 (sometimes referred to as Cottonwood Pass Road) from Buena Vista to the Cottonwood Pass summit is very sentimental for me. I do not live very far from this road, and it seems any time I need to get out my cabin to clear my head, I find myself somewhere inside the canyon leading to Cottonwood Pass. It is indeed a special place!
Here are some of my favorite pages of the Cottonwood Pass area: Bike To Cottonwood Pass Summit, Cottonwood Pass Sunset #1 and #2, West Side Of Cottonwood Pass and Mt. Yale.
