September 11 - Seven Years Ago Today
Where was I seven years ago on the morning of this fateful day? I was living in Manitou Springs and getting ready for work. I had my computer on and noticed a headline on Yahoo about an airplane crashing into the World Trade Center. I did not think much of it. I figured it was a freak accident and envisioned a small airplane, maybe a Cessna model, crashing into it. When I got in my car and turned on the radio, that was when I knew it was serious. I watched much of the TV coverage at my workplace in Colorado Springs and we were sent home early for the day. We must never forget all those who lost their lives that day.
It took some work coming up with today's Mt. Princeton photo. Initially, I snapped some photos just north of Sugarloaf Mountain (south of Johnson Village), but I was not satisfied. I eventually wound up taking more shots and thought this one southwest of Buena Vista was a pretty one.
Oh and lastly, I scraped ice off my car windshield this morning. It was that cold overnight! If you still think it is summer in Colorado, you are delusional, my friend.
