Clear Day - From The Collegiate Peaks Overlook

Mt. Princeton

I was at the Collegiate Peaks Overlook just west of Johnson Village and took this photo in Spring (April?) 2004. Just look at how clear the day was!

By the way, the peak to the left is Mt. Antero, the 14er that is situated south of Mt. Princeton. Between Mt. Princeton and Mt. Antero is Chalk Creek Canyon, a very scenic area that has the Chalk Cliffs, Mt. Princeton Hot Springs and the historic Colorado ghost town of St. Elmo. One can take that canyon up to Tincup Pass, which is part of the Continental Divide.

The canyon to the north is Cottonwood Canyon, which leads to Cottonwood Pass and points west of the Continental Divide such as Taylor Lake, Crested Butte and other areas of Gunnison County. -Steve
